Appe or paniyaram is a very famous south Indian breakfast loaded with lots of nutrients. There are various versions of making paniyaram or appe recipe. In this recipe, I share effortless and instant Rava Appe that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even as an evening snack. This soft and fluffy appe is crispy from the outside and smooth from the inside, loaded with lots of veggies of your choice to make them healthier. Appe or paniyaram are cooked in a special pan known as appe pan or paniyaram pan.This instant vegetable rava appe tastes very delicious. Serve this with coconut chutney or mint coriander chutney.
Instant Rava Appe

Batter Preparation For Instant Rava Appe
In a bowl, take 1 cup sooji, ½ cup curd, and 1 cup water, give it a fine mix, and cover for 10 – 15 minutes.
Time to add fresh veggies
Now add the fresh veggies of your choice. I have taken ½ finely chopped onion, ½ chopped capsicum, ½ chopped tomato, 1 small carrot, and finely chopped all the veggies. You can also add sweet corn.
Tempering/Tadka
Now, give tadka/temper to the prepared instant rava Appe batter.
Last Step Before Making Appe
lastly add fruit salt Or Eno Or Baking Soda. Give it a good mix and start making crispy Appe.
Heat Oil In Appe Pan
Now take an Appe pan, grease the cavities with oil or butter, and let it heat nicely.
Pour Batter Into Appe cavities
Now when the Appe Pan is ready. With the help of a ladle or spoon pour the batter into the cavities. Cover a lid and let it cook from one side and then another side.
Instant Rava Appe’s are Ready!
Now, when it’s nicely crisp golden brown from both sides. scoop it out from the pan. And Enjoy it With Mint or coconut chutney.

- 1 cup semolina sooji
- 1/2 cup curd
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 Carrot
- 1 Onion
- 1 Capsicum
- 1 Tomato
- 2 Chilli
- 10 Curry leaves

Preparation
- In a bowl, take 1 cup sooji, ½ cup curd, and 1 cup water, give it a fine mix, and cover for 10 minutes.
- Add ½ tsp cumin, and salt as per taste.Now add veggies- ½ finely chopped onion, ½ chopped capsicum, ½ chopped tomato, 2 finely chopped green chilies,10-12 leaves of curry leaves.Add ½ tsp of Baking soda and Mix well.
- Grease the Appe pan, and Put the batter in each small mold.
- Cover the lid & let it cook for 2-3 minutes on low flame.
- After 3 minutes remove the lid and grease oil on top. Turn and let it cook for 2 minutes more.
- Appe is ready, serve this delicious Appe on a plate with coconut chutney.
Notes
- Never Keep the batter after adding Fruit salt, baking soda, or Eno.
- Always add Eno, Baking soda, or fruit salt just before making appe.
